check this. back in april, some dickface without a license ran a red light, smashing head-on into my van as i was making a turn. luckily, i only suffered a broken headlight---while the dude's bronco was totally fubar'd. the cops came, followed by the ambulance. some statements were taken, i went home, and insurance took care of the rest.
it was decided that the fault was his.
fast forward 6 months. im checking my mail, and i find an official looking envelope bearing my name. i open it up, look inside, read the contents, and to my utter surprise, i find a court summoning. why the hell am i being called to court, you ask?
im being sued! not only am i being sued by the driver, but also by his passengers who were critically injured during the wreck. the dumbasses werent even wearing seatbelts.
what the hell is this world coming to? what kind of logic dictates that the correct course of action, after putting yourself in harm's way, is to blame everyone but yourself after you get hurt? thats like me punching a dude in the face and then suing him for hurting my hand. what a bunch of assholes.
